The Light of Knowledge
Here's a shot I took a while back playing with light and negative space. I shot it to enter into a photography contest for the Dallas Theological Seminary student newspaper on the theme "Man and Technology." I won it and got my picture printed. So this is a prize winning and published photo, although only in a small student publication at a small seminary... I'll take what I can get though...

Mimi's Ranch
Here's a couple of photos I liked of my good friend Eric DeShan out at his grandma's ranch North of Dallas. Basically, we shoot stuff and ride four-wheelers when we're up there. Good times. Eric helped get me into photography, and you can see some of his work at his website here: EricDeShan.com (mostly family photojournalism stuff).
This photo above was not staged at all. He was just standing there looking for any more snakes, because we had just killed the one below:

Jackson Hole, Wyoming Photo Shoot with Cam
I got to go visit Cameron Rodeck, my good friend from college, who lives in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. While we were exploring around all the beautiful countryside we decided to do some practice our photography skills and go all of these shots.
This was my second time shooting people, so it was fun to just try random things with Cam and his sister (Sarah). Let me know what you think! Advice and/or constructive criticism is always welcome since I'm still learning.
I call this one my "Gladiator Photo" - I'm still trying to figure out how to edit it properly to mimic the movie feel...

Deep Ellum Photo Shoot with My Sister
A couple months ago I got the opportunity to do my first photo shoot with real people when my sister came to Dallas. She's a wedding/portrait photographer in Houston and so she taught me a ton about photography. We went down with one of her friends (and her sweet Canon 5D Mark II!) and took some shots around Deep Ellum - it was a blast! You should definitely check out her website (christinashippeyphotography.com) because she does great work!
Here are some of my favorites from the shoot:
That's my sister - Christina. Isn't she beautiful?
Christina's friend, Cari - who volunteered to be our model.
We found this sweet backhoe and had to have it as a background.

Showroom Photos
Recently I got interested in photography since I began working a job where I shoot photos of furniture and manage the website at Adele Hunt's European Collectibles in the design district here in Dallas. I have grown to love photography in the past 6-8 months, and just wanted to start sharing some of my favorite shots from time to time. Below are a couple that I took at work in the showroom as I was just learning about cameras and lighting and everything. Enjoy!
